EL ROI: the God who sees

The only person in the Bible to give God a name was an abused, despised, foreign, pregnant maid servant. As if that wasn't enough, the first time "the angel of the Lord" (who was more than likely Jesus btw) appeared in the Bible is to this woman, Hagar. She was an Egyptian servant of Sarai. Abram and Sarai had been promised a child by God but they were old and had been waiting, what they considered, "too long". So of course, they took matters into their own hands. Never a good idea. Very quickly things fell apart between Hagar and Sarai. Hagar fled to the desert headed home. This is where the angel of the Lord found her, broken and running. You can read the full account in Genesis 16:1-15. At the end of their conversation in Genesis 16:13 Hagar says, "'You are the God who sees me' for she said, 'I have now seen the One who sees me.'"

It is not by accident the angel of the Lord's first appearance is to a woman. Nor is it coincidence a woman is the only one to give God a name. This was an intentional message to you and I as women. He is the God who sees YOU. He knows your hopes, fears, joy, and pain. He will meet you in your desert where you are broken, abused, and running.

When praying through the Lord's purpose and plan for my life, He began to reveal His plans for Juniper & Oak Wellness Co.. I felt Him say, "Women are mean to themselves, and they are mean to each other. I just want to bring them all into my embrace". Juniper & Oak's purpose is to bring you into His embrace.
