Hey there!
We are glad you are here!
Juniper & Oak Wellness Co. was founded by nurse practitioner, Dana King, a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner, with the God-given vision to meet you where you are with the unfailing love of God at every age and stage of your life; educating and equipping you from a Christ-centered, Biblical, proactive wellness care perspective.
Dana was driven to become a nurse practitioner by a passion for patient education understanding improved health literacy is fundamental to maintaining and improving health.
Having worked in orthopedic, gastrointestinal and thoracic oncology, surgical, and family practice clinical settings, it has been Dana’s experience current conventional medicine structures are ineffective in protecting and/or improving a person's health as they are reactive and rushed in nature. Our current medical systems are burdened by time constraints, corporate protocols, and insurance company requirements. Unfortunately, providers are unable to offer the type of care you need and they would like.
Juniper & Oak Wellness Co. seeks to bridge this gap between what you need and what the system is built to provide. We are not designed to replace your primary care provider but as a complement to your PCP with deeper, more individualized guidance and assistance. This is proactive, preventative well care. This is the type of care you wish your PCP had time to provide.
Dana recognizes your need for personalized and relational care that addresses all areas of your life to create well-being. She understands the importance of feeling un-rushed and heard while receiving compassionate and consistent guidance. It is Dana's goal to provide detailed information that makes sense and is easy to apply. She hopes to build a supportive community to walk alongside you on this journey understanding the Lord has built us for community. Dana believes value is found in a longterm health focus as opposed to short-term, quick fixes. She knows nurturing your wellbeing is not about creating perfection but about the small, faithful steps towards meaningful, longterm change. She seeks to provide God glorifying encouragement from a Christ-centered, Biblical perspective knowing this is fundamental to wellness or “wholeness”.
Dana lives at her home in Greenbrier, TN with her husband and two children. When she is not helping others achieve their individual health goals, you will find her spending time with her family and/or outside gardening, reading, swimming or walking.
Juniper & Oak's Mission
The name, Juniper and Oak Wellness, comes from the promises of God, His intentions towards His children found in Isaiah 55 and Isaiah 61. The Lord promises joy and peace in Isaiah 55:12, so much so all of creation celebrates. He will take what is painful, ugly, and undesirable converting it into something beautiful, steadfast and valuable. “Instead of the thornbush will grow the juniper, and instead of briers the myrtle will grow.” (Isaiah 55:13) But the Lord does not stop there, in chapter 61:1-3, we are told of His watch care over those who are hurting, marginalized or oppressed. We are promised He will replace captivity with freedom, comfort for mourning, beauty for ashes, and praising for those who despair. Those who experience this transformation will “be called oaks of righteousness”.
He is a kind and trustworthy God who wants us to be whole and well. He wants us to know we are cherished and seen. Isaiah 55:12-13 and Isaiah 61:1-3 are the perfect summation of the vision He has given for Juniper and Oak. The mission is to meet each woman where she is with the unfailing love of God. To ensure she identifies herself as God sees her, not as the world wants her to see herself. To maintain and improve overall health and wellness based on His principles and His perfect plan for her life. To allow the Father to “sanctify her through and through” so the “whole spirit, soul, and body be kept blameless”. 1 Thessalonians 5:23
It is important to note, however, the remaining portion of Isaiah 61:3 “oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of His splendor”. As Isaiah 55 notes, this transformative love is given “for the Lord’s renown, for an everlasting sign, that will endure forever.” Ultimately, what is for our good is for God’s glory. And we know and can be encouraged, “the One who calls you is faithful, and He will do it”. 1 Thessalonians 5:24
May “His Kingdom come and His will be done” through Juniper & Oak Wellness Co.
