"I Will Give You Rest"
Here is a short excerpt…
“Come to me” Jesus says. “Learn from me” because with me “you will find rest”. Jesus is the invitation. He is the refreshment. He is the solution. He is “the pioneer and perfecter of our faith. For the joy that lay before him, he endured the cross, despising the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Hebrew 12:2).

Let's talk about how to handle Daylight Saving Time (what your medical provider wants you to know)...
I have not had one single conversation this week that did not discuss the recent time change and how brutal it is. Let’s talk about it!
Shorter, cooler days with less daylight can be hard on our mental and physical health. We tend to overeat, over scroll, and under move. Fortunately, there are small, simple habits we can implement to protect our physical and mental well-being.
Hibernation Tips:
Take this extra time to improve your Spiritual Disciplines. Memorize scripture. Spend more time talking with God. Meditate on the Word daily. Start journaling. (Too often our daily time with God is one of the first things to slip when things get harder.)
Plan something. A trip. A garden. (It doesn’t really matter if you actually complete the plan. The planning itself is beneficial.)
Get OFF your phone. (It is called “doom scrolling” for a reason. It is depressing within minutes. It keeps you sedentary. It feels wasteful and useless which further depresses your mood. It can disrupt your sleep. Just say NO!)
Move your body more.
Bundle up and go for a walk! (I hate the cold. I know what I am asking. It is worth it!)
Learn something new.
Work with your hands.
Eat real food.
Make something from scratch.
Read books. Work puzzles. Play boardgames.
Have real conversations. (Have lunch dates. Schedule phone calls with friends and family.)
Get morning sunlight. (Even as little as 10 minutes. You can do it!)
Keep a routine sleep schedule. (See Issue 4 for tips to improve sleep.)
Limit simple carbs.

But GOD!
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13
